Building on Last Year's Foundation of Nomad Basecamp
When the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in partnership with Saarang Services, hosted Nepal's first-ever Digital Nomad Summit — Nomad Basecamp from August 27–31, 2025, at Bar Peepal Resort in Lakeside Pokhara, it marked a deliberate shift in how Nepal positions itself on the global tourism map. NTB CEO Deepak Raj Joshi called it a "new chapter" for the country, one aimed at welcoming not just travelers, but remote workers and entrepreneurs looking to live and build from the Himalayas. The five-day inaugural edition drew 148 attendees for a program of keynotes, hands-on workshops, morning yoga, mastermind sessions, and cultural immersion around Phewa Lake.
Nepal Moto Tours' relationship with the Nomad Basecamp community began in the wake of that first event. In September 2025, a group from the Nomad Basecamp network — four guests accompanied by two Nepal Moto Tours guides — set out on a Lower Mustang motorcycle expedition, riding through Chusang, Kagbeni, and the dramatic canyon country of Mustang's badlands. The group was welcomed at Kagbeni by local officials of the Baragung Muktichhetra Rural Municipality, presented with traditional white khada scarves, before continuing through the region's high-altitude trails, sharing meals, stories, and mountain views along the way.
What's New for Nomad Basecamp 2026

Nomad Basecamp returns to Pokhara for a bigger second edition, running September 1–7, 2026, expanding from five days to a full week. This year's program leans further into both business substance and Himalayan atmosphere, combining laptop-open keynote sessions and workshops (including sessions on AI automation and business scaling) with what organizers call "Himalayan Zen" — daily Kirat yoga, shamanistic meditation, and sound healing led by local masters, alongside a Welcome Cocktail Gala and a closing Farewell Dinner.
Attendees also get access to the event's "Golden Key" perks program: lifetime discounts of 25–50% at a curated list of Pokhara hotels, cafes, and wellness spaces — the same tier of partnership benefit under which Nepal Moto Tours' offer sits this year.
The 2026 Nepal Moto Tours Partnership

For 2026, Nepal Moto Tours has been named the official motorcycle adventure partner of Nomad Basecamp, deepening the relationship built with last year's riders and bringing a taste of Himalayan riding to a wider community of long-stay, location-independent travelers already based in Pokhara for the week.

Why Pokhara's Nomad Scene Is a Natural Fit for Motorcycle Adventure
Pokhara has steadily grown into Nepal's hub for the digital nomad and remote-work community, with co-living retreats, coworking spaces, and now a flagship annual summit drawing long-stay international visitors to the lakeside city. Many attendees spend weeks or months in the region — far longer than a typical tourist — making a multi-day motorcycle detour into Lower Mustang or Manang a natural extension of their time in Nepal, as last year's riders discovered firsthand.
